We've put together a list of the most common issues you may encounter when using hair clippers.

1. The cutting head cuts poorly or pulls hair:

Cause: The cutting assembly is dirty or worn.

Solution: Clean and oil the cutting head. If that doesn't fix it, replace the head with a new one or have it sharpened by us.

2. The battery doesn't last long enough:

Cause: A heavily soiled cutting head that isn't oiled can reduce battery runtime by more than half. If the runtime is even shorter, the batteries are likely at the end of their life.

In general, battery runtime decreases steadily with daily use. The batteries in our clippers are specifically designed for professional and everyday use, but they are also subject to this effect.

Solution: Replace the battery.

We recommend having it replaced by us, our authorized service center. We have original replacement batteries supplied by the manufacturer, we test the clipper after replacement, and the repair comes with a warranty.

3. Skin irritation:

Cause 1: Applying too much pressure on the skin while cutting

Solution 1: Reduce pressure when cutting close to the skin

or

Cause 2: Damaged or misaligned cutting head

Solution 2: Check whether the tooth tips have been damaged during use; if they are bent or broken, replace the head with a new one.

Another cause may be the upper teeth shifting past the lower teeth, causing the clipper to cut into the skin. Try adjusting the head by loosening the screws on the underside and moving the lower teeth past the upper teeth.

When properly adjusted, the head should look like this from above:

If that doesn't help either, replace the head with a new one or have it adjusted at our authorized service center.

4. The battery indicator light doesn't come on:

Cause 1: The clipper isn't seated properly in the charging stand.

Solution 1: Make sure the device is properly seated in the charging stand.

or

Cause 2: Faulty power supply

Solution 2: Make sure the power adapter is connected to the outlet. Also check that the power cord hasn't been damaged.
