Not sure how to decide which clipper will suit you? We offer a brief guide.
You can get a hair clipper for as little as a few hundred crowns. However, such products are almost 100% made in China, have tin blade sets that cannot be sharpened (you can tell by the fact that they are set in plastic with teeth protruding about 3 mm), and generally won't last long. Moreover, manufacturers of these common brands often don't offer any additional accessories or spare parts.
That's why we recommend buying clippers from well-known and proven brands like MOSER, WAHL, Beardburys, or Andis - these clippers are made in Germany, the USA, and Spain.
Professional clippers from these brands have steel blade sets that stay sharp much longer than tin ones and can be sharpened when they dull (see Sharpening). Since these are clippers used in demanding daily hairdressing and barber work, all accessories (combs, blade sets) and spare parts (adapters, batteries) are always available. Most potential issues with the clipper can be resolved in our service center.
The next step is to consider what you'll use the clipper for: hair, beard, or animal fur.
Hair clippers feature a fixed, wide cutting head, usually with adjustable cutting height directly on the head:

Clippers for outlines or beards have a fixed cutting height, a narrower head, and a cutting height of around 0.4 mm:

The next criterion for choosing a clipper is whether you want a corded or cordless model. Each has its own characteristics:
a) Corded
- Has a power cord averaging 2-3 meters long
- Generally heavier than cordless
- Generally more powerful than cordless
- Less maintenance required
We recommend: Wahl Magic Clip, Wahl Super Taper, or Moser Class 50
b) Cordless
- Portable - cable-free operation
- Lightweight
- The battery has a guaranteed number (500-1000) of charge cycles, after which it needs to be replaced (same as with mobile phones - at first the battery lasts a week, after a year it lasts 2 days)
- Suitable for daily use (comfortable, no cord restriction)
Next, it's important to decide how often you'll use the clipper. For professional (daily) use, we recommend powerful cordless clippers such as: MOSER Genio Pro, MOSER ChromStyle Pro, MOSER Li-Pro, or WAHL Cordless Senior or WAHL MagicClip Cordless.
