And so it all began. In 1905, an Edwardian explorer, Captain Peabody Fawcett, was trying to reach the source of the Ubangi, the main tributary of the Congo River. But the captain disappeared, and no trace of his seemingly doomed expedition was ever found.

The Captain's Legacy

It was not until 1997 that an old, worn-out suitcase was found. Among the crumbling, mold-infested contents lay a case containing ointments, oils, and balms. The suitcase was also said to contain old adventurers' diaries. Besides stories of hardship, prospects, and witnessed wonders, there were meticulously detailed lists of exotic ingredients that the captain had used for his grooming. The discovered recipes were preserved and are still used in the products of the brand Captain Fawcett to this day.
