The days when a thin line of hairs above the eyes was in style are long gone. Today, bold yet well-groomed eyebrows are the trend. So ladies (and in some cases, gentlemen) can't avoid plucking.
When we pluck hairs, we want to remove them from the root so we don't have to deal with them again in two days. There are various plucking techniques – recently, threading has become quite popular. It's a great solution if you forgot to pack tweezers for your vacation.
For example, you can learn this technique step by step in this video:
However, if you prefer classic plucking with tweezers, there are a few points you should follow to make hair removal more effective.
Choosing the right tweezers is key
- The tips of the tweezers must fit tightly together.
- If you have coarse hairs, tweezers with a straight, wide tip are suitable for you.
- Fine, delicate hairs are better removed with tweezers with a slanted, sharp tip.
- Material plays a big role – tweezers made of high-quality steel last a very long time, don't break hairs, and easily remove them from the root.
Did you know...?
High-quality tweezers can damage the hair follicles enough during plucking to reduce hair growth? On our e-shop, you'll find a wide selection of tweezers made of original Solingen steel. We'll be happy to help you choose.
Tips for comfortable plucking
- Correct shape – you can measure it, for example, like this:
A - start, B - highest point, C - end of the eyebrow at the outer corner of the eye

- Pluck mainly hairs below the eyebrow – hairs above the eyebrow can grow toward the forehead, and they also determine the desired shape.
- If plucking hurts, stretch the skin with your fingers.
- You can also make plucking less painful by steaming your face over hot water.
- Always pluck in the direction of hair growth – this removes hairs from the root.
- Long-term plucking can damage the follicles so much that hairs barely grow back – so be careful about the shape you maintain for your eyebrows.
